Today’s competitive and challenging markets mean product development personnel must establish the right price for their products whilst simultaneously maximising product function and design features, eliminating waste and unnecessary non value-added elements. So, designers and product development teams require accurate data relating to manufacturing time (and therefore cost) to aid them in their decision-making processes and to develop products at a price which their customers are willing to pay.
GSD QUEST is a software solution which enables non-technical staff, with little or no manufacturing expertise, to develop a “pre‐cost analysis” early in the product development cycle. Comparative analyses may also be constructed so that alternative designs may be considered and judged with the goal of attaining the perfect price/performance balance for the product.
The GSD QUEST solution consistes of two key elements – the software environment in which the user can quickly and easily build a garment with a known “Standard Time” and QED data libraries, which are based on the pedigree and integrity of the international standard that is “GSD”.
Using a simple “drag and drop" user interface to populate a graphic-based costing sheet, users are guided through the process of creating a Bill of Labour for any given product, thereby ensuring that no essential components are missed.
